Vase With Red Flowers - Van Burns

Acrylic on 16 x 20 canvas painted by Brendan Burns.I have painted a few copies of Van Gogh paintings, and this was painted in his style as a two hour study during a themed dinner party at the Barker Play House in Providence. I was playing a French Impressionist Role and was asked to paint a vase of flowers in the style of Van Gogh. This is what I came up with painting on site with the vase in front of me - the painting was auctioned off at the annual fund raising gala.

Polar Bear Study

I spent several weekends at the Roger Williams Park Zoo studying the animals and was fascinated by Kobe the young female Polar Bear who was just 6 months old at the time and quite comical.
