One of my favourite places to see the sunrise is from Jamestown in Rhode Island looking across the bay to the Claiborne Pell Newport Bridge. I painted this for a friend as a present for his wife.
Study of summer flowers painted in acrylic on cavas 30 x 30 by Brendan Burns. What I like most about this painting, apart from the rich colours, is that when I displayed it outdoors at the Wickford Art Festival the honey bees kept bouncing off the canvas - they were diving into the painting making me believe they mistook them for real.
From Jamestown there is an interesting view of Newport Bridge form Zeeks Creek. This is another sunrise painting - I was interested in the reflections in the marsh at low tide.
I spent several weekends at the Roger Williams Park Zoo studying the animals and was fascinated by Kobe the young female Polar Bear who was just 6 months old at the time and quite comical.
